In division 1 UL got off to a winning start with a comprehensive victory over CIT . WIT who meet UL at home on Thursday next at 1pm also got their campaign off on a positive note with deserved victories over DCU and CIT. Ashbourne Cup champions UCD travelled to Cork for their opening game against UCC and enjoyed a 9 point win, 3-8 to 0-8. The following week they played host to UUJ. UCD won this game 2-14 to 2-07. In division 2 UL (2) conceded a walkover to Tralee IT while St. Pats had an impressive win against Carlow IT.
