Camogie Munster Senior semi final

Last Sunday Waterford travelled to the Ragg to play this fixture in the Munster competition. Conditions were reasonable during the match with a breeze blowing up the field, which Waterford opted to play with the wind in the first half.
The early exchanges were brisk and fair with both teams showing some flair & skill.  Tipp registered first with a point from play from Mairead Morrissey in the 2nd minute but Waterford responded with a well taken score from wing forward Mairead Murphy.however it was to be all Tipp for the next 25minutes with the home side tacking on a flurry of points & three goals from play & frees while Waterford were trying their best managing to score where possible. Half time score was 4.14 to 0.03. Unfortunately it was over as a contest at this stage.
Nonetheless both teams emerged in the second half full of vigour & the play was very open & some great displays of Camogie were witnessed from both sides. Full credit to Waterford they played & contested fairly to the very end in a game which they probably didnt expect to win.
Tipp`s team display was impressive, not because of the large score tally, but the way the team played & supported each other in passages of play throughout the game. This was a game that they were expected to win but their hunger for the game & the ball was promising & their work rate was impressive. As is the case in games that are one way traffic all the team played their part, but the display from Mary Ryan at wing back was a joy to watch. Mairead Morrissey at full forward was very impressive & Joanne Ryan at corner forward was clinical with her scores, scoring from all angles.
Cork & Limerick play in the other semi final with the Munster Final fixed for May 5th.
