Ulster Camogie Council launched their Strategic Plan for 2013-2017, Buille go Bua at the Athletic Grounds on Wednesday 13th November in the company of guests from The Camogie Association, Ulster GAA and Sport NI. Following on from an extensive consultation period which took in the views of players, coaches, administrators and various members of the Camogie Association, Ulster Council identified five key themes which would guide the development of the game over the course of the next five years. 
 
These key themes highlighted regularly throughout the process were 
 
Governance- Strengthening Ulster Council
Coaching & Games- Achieving high standards across Camogie
Club & Community Development- Building capacity across Ulster
Enhancing Camogie’s Profile- Improving marketing of Camogie
Schools & Higher Education- Developing the Education Sector
 
At the launch of the plan Ulster Camogie Chairperson Kathleen Woods said: 
 
‘This plan belongs to the Camogie family of Ulster; it is your plan, the route to fulfilling your dreams and aspirations for your club, for your County for your Province. It encompasses our Athletes, our volunteers and our governance. Success is at our fingertips it is within our grasp but this needs the commitment and continued hard work of everyone at every level, coaches, executives, referees, and players. Ulster Executive is very confident that we have a robust plan which will pave the way for the development of Camogie in Ulster’. 
 
Joan O’Flynn who was making her first appearance in Ulster in her new role of Ard Stiúrthóir of the Camogie Association said:
 
‘I believe that the best days are ahead of Ulster Camogie and I congratulate Ulster Council to take up the challenge to plan for the future. It is an inspiring and ambitious plan to set Ulster in the right direction to 2017’.
 
 
Jill Poots, Governance Manager for Sport NI paid tribute to Ulster Council by adding:
 
‘Sport NI are very encouraged by the increase in playing members. This strategy puts in place support structures for the volunteers of Camogie in Ulster. I would like to congratulate the leadership of Ulster Camogie for the improvements in Governance which has given Sport NI the confidence to invest in Ulster Camogie Council’.
 
Martin McAviney served as Chair of the Provincial Integration Committee from 2009-2012 and has continued to work closely with Ulster Camogie as Ulster GAA President stated that:
 
‘Ulster Camogie Council has had the honesty and integrity to say that the previous strategy may not have worked through and it would be best to start afresh with this new strategy. For me everything that follows in this strategy has continued with that honesty and Buille go Bua is a very strong plan for the development of Camogie in Ulster’.
