Ulster Colleges’ Fr Davies Cup final
St Patrick’s Keady          1-3   St Colm’s Draperstown          1-3
There have been fewer games played in Casement Park in any code this year that were tougher and more evenly balanced than yesterday’s Fr Davies’ Cup final.
The paucity of scores in the 1-3 each draw is testament to the blocking, hassling and harrying that took place all over the pitch but particularly from both defensive units.
Amy Lavery, Hannah McGeown, Petrina Cosgrove and Laura McGeown were outstanding at the back for Keady as were Charlene Scullion, Gemma Conway, Paula McElwee and Bronagh McGillian for Draperstown.
Bronagh’s driving forward was also a key feature in putting pressure on the Keady defence, but an early injury to Mary Jo McCullagh curtailed her threat, while amy McAtavey and Orla Murray were also prominent for Keady.
Both teams created opening before Mary Jo crashed home a 10th minute goal for Draperstown and then midway through the half Michelle Morgan and Caitriona McBride swapped points.
Keady shaded the first half proceedings in all but the scoring although just before the break they hit a good patchwith points from Eadaoin Murphy and Orla Curry followed by a Murphy goal.
While Keady had patches of good play during the second half, the Derry girls held the balance of play, narrowing the deficit with a point from an Aimee Kelly free early in the half.
However they missed several other frees before Bronagh McGillian delivered from 45 metres with 2 minutes to go.
It is hoped to replay the game midweek, with an announcement being made tomorrow Monday.

Medallion Centre Senior Shield
St Louis Kilkeel          1-6       St Patrick’s Dungiven             0-1
It was only in the last five minutes of play that St Louis Kilkeel made sure of their first ever Ulster Colleges’ Senior Medallion Shield title yesterday in Casement Park.
They had dominated proceedings particularly during the second half, but could not pass the McCloskey sisters in Dungiven’s full-back line, and their interval lead of 0-4 to 0-1 was all that seperated the sides.
Dungiven had been threatening on the break and a goal could easily have lifted the north Derry challenge.
However Sophie Colgan blasted over a point and almost immediately from the puck-out she fired in a shot that Megan McDermott could only parry and substitute Nicole Grant poked home.  A free from an acute angled by Colgan completed the scoring.
Overall this was a highly entertaining final with defences really in the ascendancy.  Apart from the McCloskeys, Eimear Mullan, Caoimhe Moore and Aiveen McCormick all hurled with conviction for Dungiven.
But the overall balance of the St Louis side saw them through.  Erin McDowell and Nuala Fitzpatrick were outstanding at the back, Colleen Fearon got through a lot of work at midfield and Danielle Harrison and Carrie Killen provided good support for the target player Sophie Colgan at full-forward.
Dungiven opened the scoring with an Orlaith Mullan point, but Danielle Harrison responded with two points and another two before the break from Colleen Killen and Sophie Colgan opened a gap.
Dungiven enjoyed a good bit of possession during the first half, but for the duration of the second half, their forward line was living off scraps and it was only a matter of time before Kilkeel put them away.
St Louis : Ciara Morgan, Orlagh McParland, Erin McDowell, Nicole Hughes, Caoimhe Poland, Nuala Fitzpatrick, Colleen Magee, Colleen Fearon, Laura Sloan, Carrie Killen 0-1, Danielle Harrison capt. 0-2, Noelle Fearon, Christina Trainor, Sophie Colgan 0-3, Rachel Colgan.
Subs : Denise Trimble for C Killen (ht), C Killen for C Trainor (45), Nicole Grant 1-0 for R Colgan (46), Rosalie Caldwell for C Magee (58).
St Patrick’s : Megan McDermott, Louise McCloskey, Geraldine McCloskey capt, Ailish Carlin, Aiveen McCormick, Eimear Mullan, Clare McAteer, Richeal Archibald, Caoimhe Moore, Aine Crossan, Caoimhe Lynch, Leanne Hasson, Blinne Hogan, Orlaith Mullan 0-1, Niamh Mullan.
Subs : Bronagh McCallion for B Hogan (53).
Referee : Julie O’Neill.
