Munster Participation and Growth Co-Ordinator

The Camogie Association is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the Association as a full time Participation and Growth Co-Ordinator in Munster.

The Camogie Association is the National Governing Body for the sport of Camogie, and it is responsible for promoting and developing the game. Camogie was added to UNESCO’s list of protected cultural activities around the world in 2018. The Camogie Association operates at club, county, provincial and international levels with teams of all ages participating in the sport in recreational and competitive activities.

The Munster Participation and Growth Co-Ordinator will be part of the development team alongside colleagues in similar roles on Leinster, Connacht and Ulster, and will report to the Youth Development Co-Ordinator to deliver on annual workplans and the Association Strategic plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Development & Delivery of Camogie Programmes/Initiatives
  • Communication and Collaboration
  • Guiding and Supporting County and Provincial boards
  • Event Planning and Management
  • Annual workplan and Budget preparation
  • Health and Safety
  • Evaluation and Reporting

Person Specification

  • A third level degree in sport, leisure management or other relevant area
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ professional experience in a similar role
  • Must have the ability to develop good working relationships at multiple levels.
  • Highly organised, with demonstrated ability to work to deadlines
  • Good administrative and IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentational
  • A positive attitude, proactive approach to work and enthusiasm and interest in working for a sports body
  • Experience of working as a team member
  • Be a dynamic self-starter with a proven ability to work independently
  • A flexible approach
  • Current clean full driving licence and access to own transport

Location – This role is based in the Munster GAA Office, Co. Limerick.

Job type: Permanent (subject to 6-month probationary period).

Working hours: Full Time – 5 Day Week, 39 Hour Working week. This role is offered on a 5/7 day contract. This role requires flexibility and will entail out-of-hours working. The responsibilities and accountabilities might differ from those outlined, and other duties as assigned, might be part of the job.
