Leinster

Wexford 1-21 beat Dublin 0-21 | Leinster Senior Camogie Final

Wexford needed extra-time to see of Dublin in the Leinster Senior Camogie Championship Final. Linda Bolger’s goal in the final minute of regular time tied the game up at 1-14 to 0-17 and forced the extra period where Wexford’s hunger and determination pushed them over the line to claim their first provincial title since 2016. Having trailed by nine points at the interval and six points with ten minutes to go, Wexford looked out of the game but found a way to carve their path to victory in the second half of extra time, finally pulling away from the Dubs. For Dublin, a second final defeat in a month will not have been ideal Championship preparation, but they will put the past behind them now with all focus turning to their opening game of the Glen Dimplex Senior Championship, where they will seek revenge against Clare on May 23rd. For Wexford, celebrations will be short with a quick turnaround to their championship opener against last seasons Intermediate Champions Offaly on Saturday, May 16th

Laois 1-15 beat Westmeath 1-13 | Leinster Intermediate Camogie Final

Laois secured the Leinster Intermediate Championship title with a two-point victory over neighbors Westmeath. Laois’s talismanic forward Aimee Collier was in fine form for the O’Moore County, scoring 0-10 en route to victory. For Westmeath, Megan Dowdall’s 0-7 proved to not be enough, with Laois not to be denied. Having lost in the decider in the previous two seasons, Laois finally claimed the title that was eluding them as they head into the Glen Dimplex Intermediate Championship in fine form. Both teams now turn their attention to the championship, with Laois starting their campaign against Carlow while Westmeath have another local derby against Meath.

Ulster

Antrim 2-11 beat Down 0-11 | Ulster Senior Camogie Final

Antrim, for the first time since the 1970’s, have retained their Ulster title for a third consecutive year, seeing off the stiff challenge of Down to win out by six points. Antrim star forward Roisin McCormick was on from again for the Saffrons, hitting 1-04 for Antrim as they overcame a first-half scoring drought to get over the line towards the end of the game. Aimee McAleenan came off the bench to hit 0-5 for Down but it wasn’t to be their day on this occasion. With both sides due to meet again in the Glen Dimplex Intermediate Championship in a few weeks time, another great game is surely in store. Both sides have two rounds of fixtures to get through first, with Antrim starting their campaign away to Derry while Down travel to Kerry for their opener.

Cavan 1-15 beat Tyrone 1-10 | Ulster Intermediate Camogie Final

Cavan overcame a hot start by Tyrone to claim the Ulster Intermediate camogie Championship with a five point victory in their final competitive game of the season. Having no involvement in this years Glen Dimplex All-Ireland series, Cavan left it all on the field and came away with the spoils despite going four points down early in the game. A Shanise Fitzsimons goal right on the brink of half-time was enough to give Cavan a lead that Tyrone could not overcome, with the Red Hand county never getting any closer than four points off Cavan throughout the second half. All attention for Tyrone now turns to the Glen Dimplex Premier Junior Championship, where they will hope to go on a run starting with Roscommon in round one

Monaghan 5-12 beat Donegal 2-04 | Ulster Junior Camogie Final

Monaghan celebrated their return to provincial camogie with a Ulster title, winning out against Donegal to claim the crown. Having been 3-06 to 2-03 ahead at the break, Monaghan took over in the second half, scoring 2-06 to a solitary Donegal point to put the result beyond any doubt. The two sides won’t have to wait long to meet again, with the two teams clashing in the opening round of the Glen Dimplex Junior championship on May 22nd.

Munster

Tipperary v Waterford | Munster Camogie Championship Final

With both teams having been beaten in last year’s Glen Dimplex Senior Semi-Finals, the two counties will both be looking to progress one stage further this year with eyes on the O’Duffy Cup.
