Wexford captured the O’Duffy Cup defeating Cork in a thrilling Gala All Ireland Senior Camogie Final.
The game was end to end stuff played at a ferocious pace with tremendous skill and athleticism displayed by both teams. However, it was Wexford that performed on the day and came away with a two point win over reigning champions Cork who were looking for the ellusive three-in-a-row.
RTE Player of the Match, Una Leacy, scored Wexford’s opening goal and went on to score a second. The goal helped to settle the Wexford women.
Cork made a strong comeback in the second half of the match but Wexford managed to hold them off.
