The M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial Finals 2014 were recently launched in Croke Park by Paschal Donohoe (T.D.), Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in the company of Ard-Stiúrthóir Cumann Luthchleas Gael, Paraic Duffy and Martin Donnelly (sponsor).
Also in attendance were wheelchair hurlers Shane Curran (Connacht and Galway) and Zahid Mahomed (Leinster and Dublin).

The M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial Finals will be held in I.T Sligo on Saturday, November 1, with throw-in at 11.00am. The competition marks the end of a busy and successful first season of wheelchair hurling in the GAA games calendar.
Minister Donohoe said, “The M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial Finals is being hosted as part of the Sligo European Town of Sport 2014 calendar of events with the key theme of the year – ‘Sporting Inclusion.’  I’d like to commend the great work that has been done this year by the Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership, in particular, Deirdre Lavin and Sligo Sports Inclusion Disability Officer – Shane Hayes.”
An Ard-Stiúrthóir said: "This event wouldn’t happen without the great work that goes on behind the scenes.  I’d like to thank all the coaches and parents who continue to give their time to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play our great game of hurling. I’d like to especially thank Brian Armitage and Tony Watene (National Inclusion and Integration Committee) and John Leyden and Tim Hynes (Sligo Inclusion and Integration Committee) for all their work in bringing this event to fruition.
Martin Donnelly said: "I am both delighted and proud to sponsor the Interprovincial Wheelchair Hurling League and Finals this year.  I’d like to wish all competing teams every success and I am confident the Finals will be a great spectacle.
